Sponsor History Fest History Fest is a local, non-profit organization initially dreamed up by Jack McGowan, a kid at heart. Your support is needed. The History Fest Committee is made up of all volunteers and is always raising money for it's annual event. In order for History Fest to continue to operate and grow, we rely on financial support from the community. These funds allow us to continue our current level of operations and hopefully grow to include additional children, re-enactors and activities. You may have seen on KEYC-TV or read in The Free Press how this particular event is truly a wonderful hands-on academic and historical learning experience as well as, is becoming an event of some magnitude. Several years ago, Dr. Peter Benson spoke to our community about the importance of nurturing youth and families. Providing educational events such as History Fest fit with the methods that he outlines: providing extracurricular opportunities for girls and boys, allowing our children to learn skills and self-discipline, providing an opportunity for children and young men and women to interact with adults outside of their home and school environments. Sponsor Two Events for the Price of One! Solstice ~ a day of music and art was created in 2005 to be a fundraiser for History Fest. Solstice is an all-day music event including music of different genres, great food and arts & crafts vendors, and is held at the Land of Memories Park South of Mankato, MN in June. Different levels of sponsorship are available for Solstice, and with your Solstice sponsorship, comes a History Fest sponsorship.
